We believe every child has the ability to exceed their possibilities and we are committed to cultivating this potential in all of our students. The innovative programs at Calais are designed to highlight your child’s abilities while also building upon areas of weakness. The flexibility of our curriculum provides an educational experience that is unique to each student. Cutting-edge counseling methodologies and therapeutic interventions including Animal Assisted Interventions help students establish and attain academic, social, and emotional goals. Our compassionate and highly trained faculty and staff collaborate to provide personalized learning programs and support. Parents and caregivers often comment on the peace of mind they feel knowing their child is safe in a nurturing setting that can meet his or her emotional, behavioral and academic needs. Students are referred to The Calais School by school districts, health professionals, and concerned parents throughout northern New Jersey. We offer the only program for gifted and talented students with special needs in our Twice Exceptional Program, which has been recognized by the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) as one of the 10 best programs in the state.
