School Bio

LPS has established a well-earned reputation for providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students with complicated learning profiles that are primarily language-based. While this is our primary focus, we recognize that there is not one definition that fits our students. Our students are wonderfully complex and varied learners. But no matter what their testing says or what their IEP stipulates, they are linked together by their common desire to learn at a school that understands them, their resiliency in the face of academic challenge, and their warm acceptance of all people At a student-teacher ratio of 3.25 to 1, we have an incredibly talented team of educators working with our students. Besides gifted classroom teachers, our expert faculty -- with an average tenure of just over 9 years -- includes occupational therapists, counselors, and speech and language pathologists. These professionals all work together to provide each student with a differentiated program that allows them to meet their potential, learn essential skills, and find their voice. Every faculty and staff member at LPS realizes how important their work is. By providing the education and services that our students need -- and by presenting it in a way they understand in a supporting, caring environment -- Learning Prep makes a profound difference in the lives of our students and their families. Learning Prep is a private day school that is an approved chapter 766 program by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. We have students representing 80 different towns and 3 different states enrolled. But it is so much more than its demographics. Learning Prep is a community of teachers, administrators, and students working together to help students who previously had been left behind. We encourage you to make an appointment to visit Learning Prep School to experience firsthand the essence of this school and to determine if it may be just the right match for your child and your family. Please contact Admissions at (617) 965-0764, X226 to establish a date and time to visit us.
