School Bio
Serving bright students with unique learning styles, Franklin Academy is more than just a school! Our kind, affirming, and welcoming community provides an excellent opportunity for a fresh start. We offer a coeducational college preparatory program for students in grades 8-12 and PG. Our holistic approach supports students in developing strong academic skills while also strengthening competencies in executive functioning, emotional intelligence, social cognition, and self-awareness. Today, Franklin Academy’s alumni have been accepted to over 365 different colleges and universities across the nation and abroad. Our students are smart, inquisitive, and passionate young people who may not feel successful in traditional school settings. Many are merely enduring their school experience or have taken a break from it; most are eager to find an environment with educators who understand them. Students may be identified with: Autism Spectrum Disorder - Level 1, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Nonverbal Learning Disorder, or Social Pragmatic Communication Disorder. Some may have slower processing speed and difficulty with written production. In the right environment with educators who “get it,” all of these students can succeed – enjoying their interests and passions, going on to college, and enjoying fulfilling lives with meaningful relationships. Today, our alumni enjoy such careers as Airline Pilot, Author, State Representative, Lead Singer in LA Band, Physician, Trapeze Artist, Cartoonist, Software Developer, Social Worker, Math Teacher, and Rodeo Rider.
