Residential schools enroll students with special needs for 24 hours/day. On the continuum of services available, it is considered a restrictive option because the child must live away from the family home. The district will fund such an option if the needs of the child cannot be met without the therapeutic, wraparound services offered by the 24 hour/day care, including room and board.
